MAC Extra Dimensions

Every season when new shades are released, I try to pick up at least one MAC item to try out. Out of all of the MAC Cosmetics, I love their Extra Dimensions line and two products, Extra Dimension SkinFinish  and Extra Dimension Eye Shadow had to make it into my makeup stash.

First up, MAC Extra Dimension SkinFinish in Superb is a beautiful peachy nude with multidimensional shimmer. It goes on sheer and leaves a multifaceted (gold, bronze, nude) wash of light for a subtle glow.

Next up, eyeshadow: I'm a huge fan of taupe shades and this one does not disappoint in any way. MAC Extra Dimension Eye Shadow Stolen Moment is a beautiful dark, smoky taupe that goes on smoothly with a shimmery sheen, depth and color. Gorgeous and a beautiful color for the holidays.

I picked these up with a few other beauties from the MAC Holiday Collection and believe these two were the best beauties bought that day. Love them.

Have you had a chance to see/try/buy any of the MAC SkinFinish or Holiday Collection? What's your favorite?

Eye Love Luxury: Burberry Sheer Eye Shadows

A few months ago, earlier this year, I fell in love with a foundation from the Burberry Beauty line. The obsession began with Burberry’s Luminous Foundation (my shade is Trench #10), a beautifully seemless, sheer foundation that is virtually weightless. That was just the beginning. I quickly fell for Burberry’s Sheer Eye Shadows.

These are the 3 new Burberry Sheer Eye Shadow shades I picked up recently are from the Autumn/Winter Collection: Gold Trench (a soft, warm, golden beige), Mulberry (a beautiful dark burgundy/plum) and Dark Sable (a rich coffe/chocolate brown).

These shadows are smooth with a buttery texture that go on like silk. The shades have staying power with or without a base and last for hours without creasing or fading, maintaining a beautiful matte finish. I’ve worn these shadows over 8 hours (without a primer/base); 10 hours (with a primer/base) and did not have any creasing, pooling or fading problems.

The Sheer Eye Shadow formulation is easy to blend even though they’re highly pigmented. They can be applied lightly for a sheer and neutral look or apply a bit heavier for a more intense look. I found that because it’s a sheer formula, it’s not overdone.

The packaging design is a pretty metal finish with the Burberry logo that while beautiful, it’s a magnet for fingerprints. It comes with pretty logo bag that helps wipe the surface of any prints and keeps it clean when traveling. Size wise, the eye shadow itself is a very generous size and in all, well proportioned to the rest of the compact itself. The entire design is extremely high quality and feels good and hefty – not flimsy- in your hands.

Important to note: Burberry Beauty product are scented with a slight rose scent, but it’s not overpowering, nor does it linger. The scent fades quickly after application.

These 3 beauties have found a home in my makeup bag along with Burberry Sheer Eye Shadows: Rosewood and Midnight Brown. It's a real luxury: expertly packaged, beautiful shades that are highly pigmented, sheer and buttery textured, blendable formulations and generous shadow pans (2.5 g), all make the Burberry Beauty's Sheer Eye Shadow line one of the most luxurious to try.
